Midnite Jelutong Nasi Kandar

I've been patronizing this stall for about 5 years already. A friend introduce to us when we're always out late at nite and need something to fill our stomach. Since then, i'm really addicted to this stall. Read on, I'll tell you the secret! :))

there's sure to be a queue at 12am
That's the boss. This stall opens at 12midnite outside Bamboo coffeeshop until early in the morning when the food finishes like about 830am. It will be difficult to buy from this stall when the congestion morning market starts. It's even open on Puasa month and the rest day is on thursday.

killer item
From all my favored nasi kandar stalls, the must-have-item on my plate is the kuah daging. I will not feel satisfied without it. I feel that it will create more flavor, aroma and i just love the taste of the beef.
But for this stall, the one and only stall that i know with this killer item is the 'bawang'. They use the onion to deep fried it together with the seasoned chicken as so it creates a super aroma fragrance! I will not buy the nasi kandar if the bawang is finished... (".)

I normally order a 'basah' plate with sotong, fish, 2 bendi and share with my pal. Ask for the bawang, if not, they will not give you as most customers don't know about it. Also, they are not very generous with the bawang and so you only get what you get!

Teh tarik is so perfect for me to go with my nasi kandar :))

Kobe Beef yo!!!

Alright...
Let's eat some real meat, and this is it!!!

The chef purposely put this piece on the plate and told me to take a picture of it. I can only managed to snap once, as he is super busy. I asked their permission to take some pictures of their preparation of our Kobe Beef. They are glad to allowed me and I've take this opportunity to snap few pics.
What a nice piece of meat!

Here we are, at Kedai Kopi Hai Beng. Alright Western food is here and they serve CHEAP, FRESH and Succulent Kobe Beef!

Neatly cut per-plate portion of imported Kobe Beef

Chef on the grill cooking our Kobe steak.

The kitchen is not very big and although there aren't too many kitchen staff around, they work very much like pro and moves around very quickly.

This coffee shop is crowded with Allright's customers. However, you may not need to wait for a very long time as they are very
systematic.

One plate cost only RM88. Lots of fresh vegetables and salad on it. That is the best deal in town one can get. If you know any other places that have better deal, please let me know okay? :p

We all ordered medium done. It was just nice. First bite of this beef, i just can't believe it! The meat just sort of melts in my mouth, less biting and chewing like other beef Ive ever taste! Although the meat looks 'red', but it doesn't taste raw at all. It's rather juicy in the inside and the sizzling fragrance on the outside. puuuuurfeccct!!!

Once in awhile, you can taste the fat, yes the fat, but blind me, you will want to swallow the fat too as that's the specialty!

Look at how my sis enjoying her portion... thumbs up!
Thanks to her, i get to enjoy this food too :))

Hai Beng cafe is at Pulau Tikus, in front of PERKESO building. It's a corner coffee shop. In the morning, there are many hawker stalls there. Dinner time, there's only Alright western food and a malay nasi campur stall.

Kobe beef (神戸ビーフ Kōbe Bīfu?) refers to beef from the black Tajima-ushi breed of Wagyu cattle, raised according to strict tradition in Hyōgo Prefecture, Japan. Kobe beef is renowned for its flavour, tenderness, and fatty well-marbled texture. Kobe beef can be prepared as steak, sukiyaki, shabu shabu, sashimi, teppanyaki, ground hamburger patties and more.

Kobe beef is also called "Kobe-niku" (神戸肉?, lit. Kobe meat), "Kobe-gyū" (神戸牛?, lit Kobe cow) or "Kobe-ushi" (神戸牛?, lit Kobe cow) in Japanese. (Wikipedia)

Breakfast at New Zealand Cafe,Gurney Drive

Many Penangites should have known this famous shop for breakfast. It's located along the Gurney Drive, the other end of the food court and round-about. There are many choices to choose from here and the service are quick and friendly too. I'm here with my Mum, Grandma (Pic) and my Uncle Mr.Goh (Pic). This is one of their favorite places to enjoy hours of chit-chatting with heavy breakfast and digest it all down with lots of Chinese tea.

Pipping hot Bak Kut Teh. The soup is just nice, not too thick or thin. Free refill of soup. It's also full of herbs and meat fragrance. It's just like a normal one.

For this pot, it cost RM20. For me, i won't order this and rather choose something else as i prefer to eat it with rice.

Fried Oyster noodle with some big juicy fresh oyster. It taste like normal too but with sambal it taste much more nicer. However, we don't like the yellow noodle because it has got a active ingredient like sodium carbonate. The sodium taste is all you will taste since the sauce is quite bland.

This is the house specialty, deep fried tauhu with dried shrimp and Thai chili sauce. The tauhu is really soft and juicy, when eat together with the dried shrimp and fried garlic... Hmm! Best! Good choice, and the price is reasonable enough.

This is the best dish of all. Hor Fun in a claypot with fried fish, roasted pork, lots of assorted vege in a thick egg soup. This pot that can feed around 2-3 person if you have at least like 2-3 other dishes on your table. Anyhow, this is already the smallest pot and the lady told me this pot is for one person.

&%$@^... who can finish this alone???

Fried fish. Very fresh and crunchy. Good to eat it alone without any sauce/rice/noodle. Our favorite too. But make sure you finished it before it gets cool.

Nasi Kandar Jelutong

My late grandfather's favorite nasi kandar. Still at the same place and have the same taste. Eat in or tar pau is equally yummy!

This stall is open almost everyday from 5:30am to finish, like about 930am. The dishes run out very quickly, so by 930am, you can only eat what they've left.

The kuah is thin, unlike other nasi kandar stall you can find. Sometimes i prefer this as it won't make you feel so 'full'. Although the kuah is light, it's full of flavor and it fragrance too.

The beef kuah is a 'must-add' item. With the kuah, you can feel the spiciness and also thicken the orginal kuah a bit.

But don't expect to find variety of dish. Normally main dishes are like - curry fish (meat/head), beef, chicken, boiled/fried egg, squid, ladyfinger and sometimes other dishes too.

The nasi kandar is located in Kedai Kopi Tai Min. Opposite of Balai Polis Jelutong.

Rosmarino Italian Restaurant

ROSMARINO ITALIAN RESTAURANT

Plain Bruschetta as our Appertizer

Tag. Funghi - White sauce, served with various mushroom. It's very delicious!

Italian Meat Pizza. I love MEAT! There's four types of meat. Each tasted different, i like the beef pepperoni the best. The handmade pizza is very crunchy and thin too.

I will definitely come here again and try out some other dishes. The food, service and ambience is so great.
Oh! There's also a bar :)) Cheers!

WTF ^.^ me said whatever, lets go, LETS GOOOOO n find lor!"

Chi Chai Soup, nothing special, taste like very normal but with their special fishball... Nothing special also the fishball... LOL!!!

Tau Pork stuffed with fishball and some vegs. Special and tasty, although i personally felt that the size are too big! It will look cuter n less scarier if they reduce the size

They recommend this fish, eerrrr.... i don't know this fish call what, they talk in mandarin. *^%$#^&^* The fish is smooth and abit chewy, prepared with soy sauce, roasted
garlic and garnish with fresh ginger and coriander.

Fresh 'water chicken" (Chui keh in hokkien). The meat is tender and soft, obviously it's fresh.

Another kind of special fish. The meat is so soft it can't get any softer or else it can't be call fish meat anymore...! kanasai... this is real good!

The fish abit pricey, make sure ask how many grams how much first...

Exit at Kuala Kangsar from North-South Highway and follow the signage to Lenggong. It's quite a long drive inside, about 30 minutes to reach this very small town. However, to avoid dissapointment when you come all the way, please be there early before 12pm cuz, when i arrived around that time, most tables are Reserved! already...

Buy 1 Free 1 Buffet Dinner
